Frequently asked questions

What is Fively?

A daily estimation game. Five rounds, one for each sense (Count, Tilt, Shade, Hold and Fill), about real things. The closer your guess, the more points, up to 500 a day.

When does a new challenge start?

At midnight in your own time zone. Everyone in the world plays the same five items, each on their own day.

Can I play more than once a day?

The daily challenge has one try. You can play past days in the archive and practise each sense as often as you like.

How is the score worked out?

Each round gives 0 to 100 points depending on how far your guess was from the real value. How to play has the limits for each round.

Where do the answers come from?

Every item is a real thing with a published value, checked against at least two independent sources. You see the source after each round.

Do I need an account?

No. There are no accounts: your progress, streak and stats are kept in this browser.

I changed phone or cleared my browser. Where are my stats?

Stats live only in the browser you play on. They don't move between devices and are lost if you clear the browser's data.

I'm colour-blind. Can I still play?

Yes. Turn on colour-blind mode in the settings to skip the Shade round; your total is then out of 400.

Can I play with a keyboard?

Yes, every round: arrows to adjust, Shift for bigger steps, Enter to lock in and continue, and the space bar for Hold.

Does Fively cost anything?

No, Fively is free to play.
