Count · How many?

Counting game: how many can you see in 3 seconds?

Count is the first of Fively's five rounds. A picture of identical objects appears for three seconds and then disappears: how many were there? There's no time to count them one by one, so it's all about your sense of quantity, the quick estimate you make looking at a crowd, a jar of beans or a flock of birds.

Practise Count

Rounds from past days, as many as you like. They don't count for your stats.

Questions about Count

How long do I see the picture?

Three seconds, only once. If you switch tabs while it's showing, it's gone for good.

How close do I need to be?

Within 5% of the real number gets 100 points. Points go down from there and reach zero at 2.5 times too many or too few.

Why is the score about proportions, not exact numbers?

Being 10 off means a lot with 20 objects and very little with 500. Measuring the error in proportion makes small and large pictures equally fair.
